On the bad side, on my last trip out to do some sniping, I thought my camera was in the truck - guess again, it was on the counter at home! To make things worse, I managed to mess up my right knee. Hopefully it will be good enough to do some prospecting this coming weekend.
This last weekend, I headed up to my claim for my first sniping trip. I managed to bring home a little over 4 pennyweights. The water is still running way higher than in a normal year. I was unable to work the best part of the river because the flow of the water was too high. I will be heading out for my annual fishing trip in a couple of weeks, hopefully the river will be down when I get home. I have tentative plans for a couple helicopter mining trips when I get back. That is unless the state is on fire. Its hard to get a helicopter if there are any fires around.
My trip 2 weeks ago - The hike in was great, down hill in the cool. The trip out, lets just say the 1/4 ounce of gold I had in my pocket made the 2 1/2 hour hike bearable. Got some good video, but a lot more bad video. When the sun was in the canyon and the heat got up there, I could not see what I was filming. A lot of the video the camera wasn't filming where I was working. I was unable to see if it was aimed right. I plan to do a lot of research, in the evenings while on my fishing trip to solve this problem. I'm sure other people have had the same problem. But I do think, I did managed to get enough video to finish the "how to crevice with a detector" video. I have a bunch of editing to do!
But I do have a new video to post tomorrow, so check it out!
