Things have been kinda crazy around here the last several weeks. I had a full schedule of prospecting trips planned, then the Camp Fire hit.
I have 8 friends that lost their homes, around 30 or 40 people that I know fairly well, lost there homes, 5 friends, who still have a house, but can't go home. And one who used to work for me, he retired about 8 years ago, he did not make it out.
The fire never really threaten me, it got within 10 miles, but, I live in the valley. We had 2 weeks where we never saw the sun, there were days the smoke was so thick the sky was dark and everything had a eerie red tint.
While there is a fire burning, I will not go into the hills, its just not smart.
We have had a couple of good rains come threw and the fire is now out. We have a couple more storms lined up and they are saying the snow level is going to come down to 3500 feet. If it does that will shut me out of all the high gold fields.
Right now I have no idea what my plans are. It looks like this Sunday its not going to rain. I may just go for a ride into the hills and see what happens!
